CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN SOON ON THE GLASS TOWERS OVERLOOKING MANHATTAN
CHATHAM, NJ OCTOBER 18, 2006 — World-renowned design is coming to the Gold Coast with the announcement by the Pinnacle Companies that YOO by Starck will design both the indoor and outdoor amenity areas, the grand entry lobby and the interiors of the tower homes of its new luxury condominium development, Aurora Over the Hudson, in Cliffside Park, N. J.
Pinnacle Downtown, a division of Chatham-based Pinnacle Companies, is partnering with Kohl Partners and Craftex on the project. The team of urban developers has earned a reputation for delivering artfully crafted living spaces that are both stylish and convenient.
Construction is due to begin soon on the two sleek glass towers set high on a cliff overlooking the Hudson River. In addition to stunning panoramas of the Manhattan skyline, this exclusive development of 131 homes will offer ultra-luxurious amenities, glass terraces and ample parking, with two spaces in a heated garage assigned to each unit.
The enclave is expected to be popular with New Jersey and New York buyers seeking more space at a much better value than is typically found in metropolitan-area condominiums.
More than 60 percent of Aurora’s homes will measure more than 3,000 square feet—larger than most single family homes—making them appealing to families and to empty nesters who want the convenience of condominium living but are not willing to sacrifice the space of a large, single-family suburban home.
Philippe Starck will bring to the project his talent for streamlined, organic residential designs that lift the spirit and rouse the imagination at the same time that they offer freedom, flexibility and simplicity. He is the artistic director of YOO by Starck, which has brought design-focused development to more than 8,000 apartments throughout the world, including in London, Sydney and the Far East.
YOO will design the development’s signature elements, such as the resident club areas and reception lobbies, as well as the home layouts, kitchens and baths. From the Euro-style kitchens and natural stone bathrooms to the stunning outdoor plaza, Starck’s unique style will announce that Aurora is unlike any other residential development.
“We are excited to be collaborating with YOO at Aurora Over the Hudson,” said Brian M. Stolar, president and chief executive officer of the Pinnacle Companies. “YOO’s participation will introduce the distinction of stylish, highly imaginative European top-end design to New Jersey’s Gold Coast for the first time.”
Aurora will offer views from the George Washington Bridge to the Financial District. The Towers will house a magnificent entry lobby; the finest resident club amenities on the Gold Coast with entertainment salons, a private dining room and a Zen relaxation and spa fitness center; and the Starck Plaza, with gardens and pool set above the magnificent backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. The Borealis Residences will provide penthouse living on every floor on a scale unmatched on the Gold Coast.
Aurora’s easy access to Manhattan will be enhanced by a shuttle bus to transport commuters to mass transportation and ferry terminals. In addition to Manhattan’s nearby shopping, dining and cultural offerings, residents can also take advantage of the riverside cafés, restaurants and shopping of New Jersey’s famed Gold Coast.
The homes at Aurora will range in size from 1,760 to 3,300 square feet with prices ranging from under $1 million to approximately $2 million. All of the homes will offer breathtaking views, which will be enhanced by floor-to-ceiling windows and glassed terraces.
The homes will also feature be state-of-the-art technology, including personal electronic concierge interface; wireless Internet access; multiple telephone lines; interactive communication with security; and integrated outlets for Internet, telephone, cable and satellite-enabled networked computer systems.
